It can be tricky picking out a first date outfit when there are so many factors to consider. Is it a casual date? A fancy dinner, an outdoor lunch, or a chill coffee date? When you’re dealing with first-date nerves, the last thing on your list of stressors should be your outfit. First dates aren’t the time to reinvent the wheel when it comes to what you’re wearing.
“First impressions are hard to change and first date pressure is at a boiling point thanks to modern dating, but you can reduce that pressure by curating go-to dating specific outfits,”
says dating coach and styling expert
. “There is a nuance in ‘how to date with style,’ when used strategically, it can psychologically communicate your level of interest and elicit the desired response from your date,” says Rader.”
When it comes to the first, second, and third dates, stick to simple outfits using classic styles. Clothing that’s super trendy or fashion-forward can make you appear unapproachable. According to Rader, you should feel date-ready but don’t look like you tried too hard. Dating style studies reveal that nearly eight in ten (77 percent) Americans confess their current wardrobe needs a makeover, and almost half (42 percent) say they would dress better if they simply knew how.
Most people don’t think about dating specific attire, but the first question you should be asking yourself before a date is “What should I wear?” So, before heading out the door for your next date, tune in to Jewish Singles Radio tonight at 6:30PM and learn how to feel date-ready without looking like you tried too hard because dressing for your date and how you present yourself to someone could very well lead to the biggest commitment of your life.
