Lots of changes have taken place during the offseason, and it’s anyone’s bet who will be at the World Series in 2024. So, let’s look at some MLB teams that are very underestimated going into the new season. Watch out for these guys, because they could creep up and surprise you. Many of them added plenty of heat to their lineups in the winter months.
Underrated MLB Teams Going into the 2024 Season
Detroit Tigers
The Detroit Tigers haven’t had a World Series run in a while, but that could change in 2024. During the offseason, the team added a bunch of talent to their roster. New names include Mark Canha, Spencer Torkelson, Kerry Carpenter and Kenta Maeda, among many others. The Tigers finished second in the AL Central last season, and look for them to improve again.
Cincinnati Reds
The Cincinnati Reds were a surprise success last season, and they could be a surprise again this year. They have lots of young, top-notch talent. Now, adding to that, management brought on some veteran talent during the offseason. New players include Frankie Montas, Nick Martinez, Emilio Pagán and Jeimer Candelario. Watch out for these guys in 2024.
New York Yankees
There’s just something legendary about the New York Yankees, right? Well, the team has struggled as of late. But, that could turn for the better in 2024. During the offseason, the Yankees added one of the league’s best hitters in Juan Soto. They also added Alex Verdugo, Trent Grisham and more to their roster.
