WalletHub recently released their most fun cities in America list and we were surprised and disappointed where Philadelphia ended up on the list. We aren’t really surprised by number one here but definitely think that Philly should’ve been much higher!

Most Fun Cities In America

In this WalletHub article, they factored in the most, three major categories to assign the ultimate ranking: Entertainment and Recreation, Nightlife and Parties, and Cost. There are about a total of 65 different considerations made while going into the list, find out more here.

A WalletHub Analyst, Cassandra Hope, at this to stay about choosing these rankings. “All cities have a variety of activities,” she said, “but some shine more than others when it comes to things like parks and beaches, live music and comedy, partying, sports culture, or fine dining.”

When it comes to cost, they also factor in more than just the cost of a night out, but also the cost of a gym membership, the cost of sporting events, and more.

Why Philly Should be Higher!

The spirit of this city is unbelievable. Let’s start with the sports scene. We’ve got the four major sports, Phillies, Eagles, 76ers, and Flyers. Plus a bevy of additional amazing teams including the Philadelphia Union. Not to mention, we have a TON of colleges and universities in the area that not only have their own sports teams but have their amazing atmosphere as well.

Plus, don’t forget the history. This is where our country began, so much to explore. We have one of the largest malls in the country, the country’s first zoo and so much more. Amazing food and dining, great arts and theater, I mean, maybe I’m biased but come on!

Most Fun Cities Top Five Plus Where Is Philly

Below you can see the top five plus where Philly ended up.

  • 1) Las Vegas

For the third year in a row, Las Vegas has topped this list. Amazing entertainment, now they are making waves in the sports world with their own hockey franchise, the Golden Knights, the Las Vegas Raiders and soon the Athletics coming to town. This kind of makes sense.

  • 2) Orlando

I mean, who doesn’t love Disney? Orlando has a lot to offer not to mention, it’s warm! This beat out Philly, not surprised there. Hard to beat the happiest place on earth.

  • 3) Miami

MIAMI! Mr. 305 would love this pick here. Beautiful but also a big party town. Not my cup of tea but it continues to be very popular on this list.

  • 4) Atlanta

This one confuses me a bit. Nothing against Atlanta persay, I just can’t believe it beat out cities like Chicago, New York and Nashville. But hey, I didn’t write the list!

  • 5) San Francisco

It’s about time a California city made this list. I am shocked that the first one on the list wasn’t Los Angeles (that landed at number 20) which just beat out Philadelphia.

  • 21) Philadelphia

See what other cities beat out Philadelphia by checking out WalletHub’s list here. Philly ranked #21 on this list with #25 Entertainment and Recreation rank, #18 Nightlife and Parties rank along with a #109 cost rank. I guess top 25 is something to celebrate maybe? But there are some on this list that beat us that is insane.
