Comfort food is like getting a hug from someone you love, and on Food, Farms, & Chefs we consider this week’s guests as part of the family–and it helps that they’re bringing you comfort food from their kitchens to your listening ears!
We begin the hour with Michael Sarian, the owner of Curly’s Comfort Foods located in Levittown, PA.  Curly’s has been a staple in the community for a while, with its beginnings stemming from Micael’s success and subsequent need to retire from competing in the Wing Bowl, along with the creation of his scratch-made sauces.  Since then, the self-made entrepreneur opened up Curly’s Comfort Foods and became a huge hit within his community, and the most beloved spot within the cheesesteak lovers community–including all of us at Food, Farms, & Chefs!
Speaking of community, our next guest, Donna Boaggio, hails from Mt. Laurel, NJ and co-owns the very popular Boaggio’s Bread and Italian market with her husband.  The family-owned specialty bakery and Italian market is run by the entire Boaggio family, who quite simply aim to please everyone’s palate.  As soon as you walk through their doors, you’ll be greeted by a friendly face and a plethora of goodies from across the globe.  Walk inside a little further and you’ll see all of the delicious prepared meals adorning the store within, offering everything from scratch-made sauces to grab-and-go meals.  Just don’t forget to grab a loaf of their daily made breads–trust me it is worth every last bite!  They’ll be re-opening their door this Sept, so be sure to visit and taste for yourselves why Boaggio’s Bread has won multiple awards in South Jersey!
Lastly, we hear from friend of the show Frank Pagliaro.  Frank is joining us to extend an invitation to his end of the summer festival, FROGtoberfest302!  Complete with brewers, wineries, meaderies, and more–this festival is taking over the entire lot (including the adjacent lot, Audi of Wilmington, DE).  There will be music, vendors, and of course a multitude of Delaware-based libations to sample while you’re there!  The Last Sips of Summer FROGtoberfest is happening September 18th, so be sure to get your tickets now before they sell out!  And to balance out the segment, Frank also discussed the popularity of zero-proof cocktails and what brews are trending now that Fall is around the corner–so tune in to hear all about FROGtoberfest, mocktails, and the latest trends in libations this Fall!
