We’re introducing all of our Food, Farms, & Chefs fans to some brand new businesses in the culinary world on this week’s show, beginning with a guest who has a wealth of experience tantalizing your taste buds: Matthew Rossi, the owner of Nick’s Roast Beef has acquired and is restoring a commissary in Philadelphia under the new name Philadelphia Food Trucks Commissary (PFTC). He joined us on the show to discuss his new acquisition, along with his plans and goals for PFTC moving forward.
We then spoke with Andrew Hueston, who is the Company Director of Restaurant Aleksandar which just opened in Rittenhouse Square. Owner Aleksandar Stojnic is new to Phiadelphia’s restaurateur scene, with plans to expand his business ventures in the near future. For now though, he is bringing center city’s Rittenhouse Square a menu that is American with some light eastern European influence–and Andrew Hueston was on to tell us all about the new venue and menu at Restaurant Aleksandar!
Lastly, we’ll hear from a business that’s bringing you all the perks–and by perks we mean percolated energy from their delicious line of coffees. Steeped in a world that pays homage to our favorite old-school actors and musicians, Dead Sled Coffee Company helps to keep you awake while offering a delightful experience with every sip. Owner Diana Whittles joined us to talk about how she got started in the business, what coffees they offer, and where you can find them for your next pick-me-up!
