Sherry McCracken walked away from a successful business career in Corporate Information Technology over a decade ago to focus full time on her passion in storytelling. Since then, she’s produced three feature films with her partner Dina Engel, and production partner, Modoc Spring — The Suspect (This is Us’ Sterling K. Brown, ER’s Mekhi Phifer), Natural Selection (The Breakfast Club’s Anthony Michael Hall, Shawdowhunter’s Katherine McNamara), and American Gothic (Grand Theft Auto’s Ned Luke)…
Most recently she created a series and produced the pilot episode of 48 Blocks, filmed entirely in and around Atlantic City.
Sherry’s love for Atlantic City takes many forms, including producing the short film Atlantic City, filming and directing recording artist Chris Kasper’s City by the Sea music video, and working with Stockton University to direct and produce a Story’s of AC short telling the story of Chicken Bone Beach, the once segregated beach of Atlantic City. Prior to that, Sherry worked with the Atlantic City Arts Foundation to create and produce a documentary about AC’s growing mural program.
In 2018 Sherry dove into the Blockchain world and began testing and building models to support the creator economy. Sherry signed her first smart contract and KYC to put The Suspect on Breaker.io in early 2019. Currently she is working on several Web3 film projects including a children’s animated series where she is working on innovative ways to get past the Hollywood gatekeeper and monetize filmmaker content.
Sherry was featured in both Filmmaker and MovieMaker magazines, was a featured speaker at a NY Women in Film & Television Event and was a featured panelist at Lionsgate Studios.

When Thomas Edison and his team invented the movie camera in West Orange, the inextricable link between New Jersey and motion pictures was born. Beginning in the early days of the silent era and continuing in the present day when an historic amount of production is taking place here, the film industry is essential to New Jersey’s past, present and future.
The New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission has supported and nurtured this creatively vibrant and economically vital industry for over 45 years. The Commission’s knowledgeable and experienced staff assists filmmakers with all their needs — financial incentives, permits, regulations, production services, site selection and clearance. The Commission, part of the Business Action Center within the Department of State, attracts and supports production work and promotes infrastructure growth for the economic and image benefits the state derives.
