We’re Dishing It all Up on this week’s Food, Farms, & Chefs Radio Show, with two of the female chefs who will be competing on May 18th at the Lincoln Financial Field during Dish It Up, an all-female Chefs Event benefiting the Women Against Abuse foundation. The first of whom is Chef Georgeann Leaming, the Culinary Director of FoodieHall, located in Cherry Hill, NJ. Chef Leaming joined us in-studio, and brought a variety of her delicious meals that you can order from FoodieHall–and between bites, we chatted about where she earned her Chef marks, along with some tantalizing details of the tasty dishes she brought to the studio! Trust me–it will make you crave them too!
During our second segment, we will be joined by the Chef Diana Widjojo of Hardena, a highly acclaimed Indonesian restaurant located in the heart of South Philly and Joanna Otero-Cruz, the Executive Director and President of Women Against Abuse. As an official Media Sponsor of Dish It Up, we are excited for this amazing event! More importantly–we’re honored to have the opportunity to help raise awareness about the serious issue of Domestic Violence, how you can help out, or if you or someone you know is directly affected by domestic violence–that you can reach out to Women Against Abuse or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at (800)-799-SAFE{7233}. Both Chef Widjojo and Mrs. Otero-Cruz are joining to discuss the event, the purpose behind Dish It Up, and the vital work that the expert advocates at Women Against Abuse do to offer confidential and compassionate support, as well as care for survivors of domestic violence by providing intervention and connects them with the appropriate safe supports.
In our final segment, we hear from Chef Mike McKinley who will be offering a learning experience this Wednesday at Old City Kitchen, with whom the owner Laura Eaton also joined us on Food, Farms, & Chefs for this week’s show! Both Chef McKinley and Mrs. Eaton feel passionately about food, and Chef McKinley is elated to share his knowledge of utilizing alternative medicine in combination with his culinary talents. His latest endeavor will offer guests of Old City Kitchen a delightful night while dining on a multi-course menu curated around cuisines infused with CBD oils.
