We’re taking you out for a night on the town with this week’s episode of Food, Farms, & Chefs, as we speak with the Executive Chef from a newly opened black-owned restaurant and entertainment venue, and then whisk you away when we speak to the owner of several event spaces that are the perfect place to host an intimate tasting event, pop-up market, or party!
We begin by speaking with Executive Chef Elijah Milligan of Wilson’s Restaurant & Live Music Lounge, located in Hi-Nella, NJ. The live entertainment venue offers not only a perfect night out with your loved ones or friends, Wilson’s is located near Lawnside, an area that is historically significant. Lawnside, NJ is the oldest incorporated African-American township with ties to numerous nightclubs from an era gone-by. So as Mame and Mark Wilson opened their doors back in December, they breathed new life into the nightlife that was once booming, and you will hear all about the delicious menu and talented Chef in this week’s episode.
We then hear from Laura Eaton, who founded Old City Social, Old City Collective, and what will soon open its door–Old City Kitchen. Laura is on to talk about the various businesses and what they offer; from hosting intimate parties and pop-ups, to offering private dinners and tastings. With her newest addition, Old City Kitchen, private dinner parties, tastings, cooking demos and classes will be that much more available as the new space has been created with just that in mind! Tune in to find out how you can participate in, host, or sign up for one of the fun and customizable events at one of her Old City locations!
Last but never least–you’ll hear from our very own Chef Gene Blum, Amaris Pollock, and Kevin Wilson for our monthly installment of “Where We’re Eating.” Tune in for recommendations from your favorite foodie hosts, and who knows? Perhaps you will run into one of them at their favorite spots!
