Justin Cohen is on his honeymoon so his law partner Jose Hernandez (Kotlar, Hernandez & Cohen) is co-hosting with Joe Dougherty.

JUSTIN M. COHEN focuses his practice on the litigation of workers’ compensation and personal injury cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. His aggressive style and diligent efforts have helped him to recover significant benefits for his clients. Prior to joining the Kotlar, Hernandez & Cohen, LLC , Justin worked in Philadelphia on substantial personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Justin’s exposure to complex civil litigation matters from an early point in his career helped to cultivate and enhance his skills as a trial attorney.

Justin graduated from Rutgers University in 2011 with a dual JD/MBA degree. Justin received his bachelor’s degree in American history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Justin is rated 10 (highest available) on AVVO, has received numerous 5-star reviews from his clients, and is a Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Attorney. He is believed to be the youngest attorney in New Jersey to receive his Workers’ Compensation Board Certification.

JOSE HERNANDEZ has 26 years of experience and aggressively protects the rights of those who have been injured by the negligence of others in areas including significant motor vehicle accidents, products liability, medical malpractice, construction site injuries, trucking accidents, nursing home negligence, workers’ compensation, premise liability cases, commercial litigation and criminal defense.

He has worked for some of the top law firms in South Jersey where he gained considerable experience handling complex cases involving catastrophic injuries. He now puts that wealth of experience to work for clients of Kotlar, Hernandez & Cohen, LLC . Jose is a fearless and passionate trial lawyer and regularly takes on difficult and complex cases other lawyers refuse to take. Jose has served the community as a municipal court public defender and as a member of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, Office of Attorney Ethics, District I Ethics Committee. He is a frequent speaker in ethics seminars and teaches trial advocacy to lawyers throughout New Jersey. Jose is also a proud member of the New Jersey Association for Justice and sits on its Board of Governors.

Jose is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, where membership is rigorously limited to attorneys who have litigated cases that resulted in recoveries of one million dollars or more. Jose has made recoveries in excess of one million dollars in cases involving premise liability, automobile accidents, construction site cases, tractor trailer accidents and forklift accidents. More recently, in 2019 Jose recovered $1,700,000 in a motor vehicle accident and in 2020 $1,050,000 for a worker injured in a forklift accident.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jose is fluent in Spanish. Jose obtained his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in 1989 and graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1994. He is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
