George Falkowski, Four-time NY Emmy winner. Wrapped up two and a-half years at “Chasing News” on My9 and Fox5 in NYC. Currently teaching communications classes at Kean University. Also reporting/producing stories for social media via my website, www.Yo-GeorgeTV.com. Freelance reporter/writer/producer/illustrator. Hockey goalie dad x two.
Just published first book: “Meet Me At The Bat”. Available on Amazon.
I spend a lot of time driving. Big fan of Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Don Williams, AlanJackson.
I worked in regional sports TV as a feature producer from 1985-1995 (NESN, SportsChannel NY) and 18 years in TV news (News 12 New Jersey), from 1996-2013 as a sports anchor/reporter and news/feature reporter. Moderately accomplished cartoonist and illustrator. Failed “Basic Drawing” as a college freshman.
As mentioned, I’m currently teaching college-level communications/media/journalism-related classes.
I also taught communications classes for four years at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill MA and one semester of sports reporting at Emerson College in Boston in the 1990’s.
I’ve illustrated several books (“The Flakes of Winter” by Stan Fischler and “The Resume Tape Book” by Rose Tibayan) and famously created the Boston Bruins official Christmas card from 1988-1992. Take that, college art professor, wherever you are.
The goal is simple: finding another full-time job that will allow for creativity and keep me working with the public, either in media or teaching. Or both.
