The POWER sponsored segment had Reverend Dr. Leslie D. Callahan – Pastor of St. Paul’s Baptist Church (1000wallace.org/about-us/our-pastor) talking about pay equality.

During the program Mark & Denise also talked about the upcoming Super Bowl parade for the Philadelphia Eagles. During the discussion, the topic of various criminal attacks that occurred during the celebration right after the win and how these incidents may be pursued and prosecuted. Which resulted in Philadelphia Public Defender Keir Bradford-Grey(www.pubintlaw.org/people/keir-bradford-grey) ( www.philadefender.org )   to call in to provide insight from her office.

In the final segment, Dr. Bobby Donaldson (Associate Professor from University of South Carolina – www.sc.edu/study/colleges_schools/artsandsciences/our-people/faculty-staff/donaldson_bobby.php) was on with Mark & Denise to talk about the 50th anniversary of the Orangeburg massacre that occurred on February 8th, 1968 on the campus of South Carolina State University. In addition, the history of the Charleston Nurses Strike of 1969 and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s time in South Carolina during all of this. http://civilrights.sc.edu/
