David A. Smith is a veteran of the public affairs arena and has expertly managed public affairs campaigns impacting auto insurance, life insurance, financial services, tort reform and environmental legislative initiatives. He was a member of Governor Murphy’s Transition2018 Environment & Energy Committee and has appeared on television and radio stations representing clients’ interests and authoring dozens of articles on politics/policy issues in New Jersey. Mr. Smith is also a frequent guest speaker/lecturer at national and state conferences, legislative hearings, meetings, and seminars.

Mr. Smith received national acclaim when he was honored with a “Pollie Award” by the American Association of Political Consultants and named to their United States “Public Affairs Team of the Year” for his successful leadership on a historical auto insurance reform initiative. Since first being appointed by the Governor in 2005, Mr. Smith has been a Commissioner on the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Development Commission, which promotes that State of New Jersey as an ideal location for film and TV projects and since 2016, has served as Vice Chairman of the Commission.

A founding member of the New Jersey Hall of Fame, Mr. Smith serves as an executive officer and 1st Vice President of the New Jersey Hall of Board and has helped executive produce the last several New Jersey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies. He also served as the Treasurer/Officer on the Board of Directors of the State Capitol Insurance Company (RRG), headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Smith is the past Chairman and current Board member of The Advocacy Group, a national and international of lobbyists representing most of the U.S. States and a dozen countries. And, since 2006, Mr. Smith has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Public Affairs Council, headquartered in Washington, DC, and was one of the few contract lobbyists in the Country to be appointed to a National Task Force charged with creating an ethical standard for lobbyists throughout the United States.
Prior to joining PPAG– Princeton Public Affairs Group in 1995, Mr. Smith served as Director of Policy and Planning for the New Jersey General Assembly Democratic Office. In that capacity, Mr. Smith supervised the partisan staff of all Assembly Committees and Task Forces while serving as a senior staff aide to the insurance and commerce legislative committees. He was a Director with the New Jersey Dental Association from 1985 to 1990 and served on several national and state health care and insurance advisory committees.

Mr. Smith was awarded a Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) Degree from the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School of The American College. He is a Graduate Fellow of the Public Affairs Institute, a three-year educational program of the Public Affairs Council located in Washington, DC. Mr. Smith is a graduate of Gettysburg College and currently holds various insurance licenses. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA, Association of Film Commissioners International and enjoys snowboarding in the Catskills with his family.

Crack the Sky is an American progressive rock band formed in Weirton, West Virginia, in the early 1970s. In 1975, Rolling Stone declared their first album the “debut album of the year”, and in 1978, Rolling Stone Record Guide compared them to Steely Dan.[1] Their first three albums charted on the Billboard 200. In 2015, their debut album was ranked number 47 in the Rolling Stone list of “50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums of All Time “.[2] The band continues to release albums and perform to a small but devoted fan base to this day.
