Bishop Mary is joined by Regional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sophie Parker, Olney Center Medical Director Dr. Raina Gazurian, and South Philadelphia Center Medical Director Dr. Latha Cherath of Dedicated Senior Medical Center.
When it comes to her patients, DR. SOPHIE PARKER, MD takes all matters to heart. Literally. As an expert in cardiovascular health and internal medicine, she knows how to help seniors live their best level of health. “Diet, exercise, stress management and lifestyle – they’re all important parts of a patient’s well-being,” says Dr. Parker. “I enjoy my role in helping patients lead a better life. Spending time with them helps me understand more about their lives and what they need to improve their health issues. I answer their questions and listen to their concerns. Doing so helps me develop the best care plan for them.”

Ever since DR. RAINA GAZURIAN, MD, CPE became a physician, she’s been on a mission to raise the quality of care for patients. Her dedication has changed the way many practices operate, increased patient satisfaction, and earned her several awards. While Dr. Gazurian has even taken on leadership roles, she really enjoys working one-on-one with patients, especially seniors. “My favorite part is hearing their stories and getting a chance to participate in their lives,” she says. “I also love the wisdom and experience seniors share,” Dr. Gazurian says.
In her personal time, Dr. Gazurian likes to spend time with family and friends, be outdoors, and travel. Hawaii has been her favorite destination so far.

From the time DRr. LATHA CHERATH, MD, PhD, FACP was 8 years old, she wanted to take care of the sick and dying and provide care and comfort as only a physician could. So, after she finished her residency in Internal Medicine, becoming a hospitalist was a natural fit. “It was an honor to serve seniors during their hospital stays, but I missed the continuity of care” she says, and that was why she chose to join ChenMed. “I am dedicated to caring for seniors with the dignity and respect they deserve.”
Dr. Cherath especially enjoys listening to her patients’ stories and providing education to support their health. Dr. Cherath has traveled around the world and volunteered in refugee camps and in medical clinics serving the poor.
When she’s away from work, Dr. Cherath loves to spend time with her husband and children, listen to podcasts, read, write, go on long hikes, watch movies, and listen to music.
