Your Host, Justin Cohen focuses his practice on the litigation of workers’ compensation and personal injury cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. His aggressive style and diligent efforts have helped him to recover significant benefits for his clients. Prior to joining Kotlar, Hernandez & Cohen, LLC , Justin worked in Philadelphia on substantial personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Justin’s exposure to complex civil litigation matters from an early point in his career helped to cultivate and enhance his skills as a trial attorney.
Justin graduated from Rutgers University in 2011 with a dual JD/MBA degree. Justin received his bachelor’s degree in American history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Justin is rated 10 (highest available) on AVVO, has received numerous 5-star reviews from his clients, and is a Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Attorney. He is believed to be the youngest attorney in New Jersey to receive his Workers’ Compensation Board Certification.
A graduate of the University of Delaware, Matthew Solomon taught high school advanced placement psychology before earning his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law.
As a law student, Mr. Solomon took part in Hofstra’s Mediation Clinic, mediating numerous family law dispute and supervision cases. He was certified to mediate divorce disputes cases and Persons in Need of Supervision cases in New York. Also, while a student, he clerked in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas for the Honorable Annette M. Rizzo. In 2015 Mr. Solomon received his L.L.M in Trial Advocacy from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
He focuses his practice on Personal Injury matters, as well as leads Dion, Solomon & Shapiro’s Landlord Tenant Litigation Department representing both landlords and tenants in disputes. Matthew has been involved in many of the firm’s complex cases including handling numerous six figure Concussion Injury cases, Mold injury cases, DUI accident cases as well as Child Sex Abuse Cases. Matthew also volunteers with Philadelphia VIP, conducting pro bono representation of homeowners in mortgage foreclosure disputes. Matthew also sits as an Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Matthew has been selected by Super Lawyers to the 2020 and 2021 Philadelphia Rising Stars list, an honor only afforded to only 2.5% of attorneys.
Outside the courtroom, Matthew is an active cyclist and has participated in numerous long-distance charity rides, as well as in fund-raising campaigns for non-profits including Emily’s Entourage, the American Cancer Society, Livestrong Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Over the years he has raised more than ten thousand dollars for these charitable organizations. Matthew currently resides in Philadelphia with his family and dog.
