Catherine Engelbrecht is a wife, mother, business owner, native Texan, and lifelong practitioner of common sense.
What became a full time call to grassroots activism first started in 2008, when she could no longer watch silently as government made decisions that stood in stark contrast to America’s principles of personal liberty and economic freedom. She looked at her children, her aging parents, her business, her church, and she knew she had to do something to help protect them. So with her family’s support, she stepped out in faith, away from the family business and into 24/7 service working on behalf of all those who believe in the greatness of America and the, Judeo-Christian values on which it was founded
In 2009 she started True the Vote, a citizen led effort to restore honor and integrity to our electoral system. True the Vote educates voters, researches the veracity of voter registries, trains and mobilizes volunteers to work in polling places, and advocates for comprehensive election code reform legislation. True the Vote is currently working with 30 states, with emphasis in select states and counties known to have historically problematic election processes.
In 2011 CPAC presented Catherine and True the Vote with the Ronald Reagan Freedom award in recognition of their groundbreaking work. In 2012, Catherine was named one of Politico’s “50 to Watch”, given to 50 new and rising talents on the national political scene.
Erin Phillips is the co-founder and president of the non-profit organization, Power2Parent. Her involvement in her children’s school in the Clark County School District led her to recognize a need for an organization that would help protect parental rights. She is a regular guest on AM radio, has represented Power2Parent on local news, was a guest on the political news commentary “What’s Your Point”, and has appeared a number of times on the “Ralston Live” show. She worked tirelessly during the 2015 and 2017 legislative sessions to champion bills that protect parental rights.
Charlie Melvin is an original member of Power2Parent. Growing up in Las Vegas since 1987 and with a majority of her family having immigrated to Nevada from Mexico City in the 70’s, her deep roots here created her passion for politics, the importance of the family unit, and preserving the great state of Nevada. Concerned about the school district she grew up in, she wanted to fight for better education for her four children along with all children in Nevada. Together with Erin Phillips on behalf of Power2Parent, she worked during the 2015, 2017, and 2019 legislative session to champion bills that protect parental rights. Above all, she is passionate about protecting the right to parent and will always advocate for parents to maintain that right. Protecting religious freedom and preserving the Constitution are also of utmost importance to her.
