For all you Harry Potter lovers out there, there is a new television series coming out soon. Announcing on social media earlier this year, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed a new era is coming for Harry Potter fans. The company announced that the series will be based on all seven books by J.K. Rowling. Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO & Max Content, assured fans the television revival will be “a faithful adaptation.” Early reports had each season focusing on one book out of the seven in the novel series, but Bloys said the project would run for “10 consecutive years.” Fantastic Beasts will not be a part of the series. So of course, we had to look for some Harry Potter must haves!
What We Know About The Harry Potter Series So Far
The series is expected to be on air either in 2025 or 2026 on Max. New actors will be playing the series’ main characters, but it’s unlikely anyone has been cast yet, per Deadline. Last month, Daniel Radcliffe said he doesn’t have any interest in getting involved whatsoever. Discussing with ComicBook.com, the actor, who played the titular character, said his understanding of the new project is that they’re trying to “very much start fresh.” He added that the new casting won’t want to live in his shadow as Harry and “make their own mark on it.”
Since Radcliffe doesn’t want to burden the new actors with his cameo somewhere, he adds that he isn’t “seeking it out in any way.” He told the publication that he “obviously” wishes them “all the luck in the world, and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.” As for a return for parts that were held by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint (Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively), it is reported that new actors will be cast in their roles as well.
