\nSMB is widely considered to be the go-to law firm in the U.S. for catastrophic construction accidents—particularly those involving building and worksite collapses, and incidents involving cranes and aerial lifts.
\nOver the last decade, it has also successfully handled several mass casualty events involving transportation, including the 2015 Amtrak train derailment in Philadelphia. Building on that experience, it is currently representing many of the plaintiffs in the 2018 Branson, Missouri duck boat disaster that claimed 17 lives.
\nWith a roster of nationally-known practitioners and formidable financial resources, SMB has taken on some of the country’s most complex, technical, data, and document-intensive cases and won.
\nAra Richard Avrigian, a partner in the Firm, joined Saltz Mongeluzzi & Bendesky in 1998. He concentrates in medical malpractice liability, motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, premises liability, and products liability.
\nHe is a 1988 graduate of Moravian College, received his J.D. from Penn State Dickinson School of Law in 1992 and his LL.M. in trial advocacy from Temple University in 2003.
\nMr. Avrigian serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on medical malpractice cases. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Avrigian worked as a medical malpractice defense associate with Wright Young & McGilvery, where he participated in bringing more than 25 malpractice trials to verdict over the course of five years.
\nMr. Avrigian has obtained plaintiff’s jury verdicts for injured clients in medical malpractice cases, products liability cases, premises liability cases, and motor vehicle accident cases.
\nHe is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Montgomery County Bar Associations, and the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations.
\nAndrew (Drew) Heinold is a personal injury attorney who focuses on catastrophic injury cases in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. These cases result from construction accidents, electrical accidents, medical negligence, negligently-maintained premises, defective or malfunctioning products, motor vehicle accidents, and workplace accidents.
\nDrew has had the honor of representing clients in a multitude of different matters spanning the field of personal injury litigation. He has gained experience handling all aspects of litigation from pre-litigation investigation and filing of a lawsuit through settlement or trial.
\nOutside of work, Drew, a Philadelphia resident, enjoys everything the city has to offer and a member of the Logan Square Neighborhood Association. He is an avid sports fan, including all Philadelphia teams, but has a special passion for the sport of soccer. Drew played on the Varsity Men’s Soccer team during his time at Villanova and continues to play in multiple leagues in Philadelphia. In addition, Drew is a volunteer board member of Philadelphia’s CASA Soccer league, one of the largest adult soccer leagues on the East Coast. Further, he was recently elected an At-Large Governor of the Bishop Eustace Alumni Association, his high school alma mater.
