The Marshall Portnoy Show Download

This week on The Marshall Portnoy Show – – Lots of great music! – – – particularly that of singer/songwriter Denise Moser, always a lovely and very interesting voice in our region. We’ll hear her magical music, and also about the unexpected way her life took a sudden sharp turn in the direction of Judaism. And that leads me to ask about why women seem to be supplanting men in terms of synagogue leadership. One exception to that may be the strong Brotherhood at Main Line Reform Temple and I’ll be talking with two of its leaders to find out their secret.

It all happens Tuesday at 10 AM on WWDB 860 AM here in Greater Philadelphia, or 24 hours worldwide on wwdbam.com. Our Philadelphia audience can hear the rebroadcast on Friday at 10 AM, livestream at  wwdbam.com.

Dear listeners, I’ll be teaching a course at the Barnes Foundation on Monday evenings beginning January 28 entitled Jewish Art and Artists at the Barnes Foundation. I am so excited about this and would love for you to join me. Just call the Barnes at 215-278-7000 or click on barnesfoundation.org/classes

For those of you in West Florida, please join me at Temple Beth-El in Fort Myers for Shabbat Services on Friday, February 8, at 7:30 PM. Together we’ll have an inspirational (and musical!) Erev Shabbat!

Our Valentine’s Day broadcast on February 12 is going to include my favorite love songs performed by my favorite singers, but I’d love – – that’s the operative word for Valentine’s Day – – I’d love to include some of yours as well. So, if you’d like to send me the name of that special song, and perhaps that special someone to whom you’d like to dedicate it, I’m a click away from making that happen. Just write the name of the song and the dedicatee to this e-mail – – or there’s still plenty of time to use the US Mail at P.O. Box 2786, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
