Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority Executive Director, Tom Donahue, discussed the agency, created by the PA General Assembly but privately funded by the industry. He explained insurance fraud, how insurance companies investigate claims and how it funds investigators at local police forces to investigate fraud. He also described the agency’s campaign ‘See How They Lie’ that’s been adopted by 33 other states, and the penalties for making a false claim. He also addressed driving safety
and their efforts to reduce distracted driving, one of the leading causes of accidents.
