We hit the mid way point of the week, on a bit of a foggy note when we all heard that sound. It is a very special day, a day of remembrance. After Mark & Denise unpacked all of the top stories on the day, we opened up the phone lines as we reflected on the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. The 8 o’clock hour sponsored by POWER brought back our FIRST guest on Mark & Denise in the Mornings since being here at WWDB, Antoine Little http://www.afscme33.org/ (Business Manager of Local 427 ADSCME D33). Antoine was calling us from Memphis, Tennessee telling us about the activities going on for MLK50 and providing some insight in speaking with some of the people in the area. Next on the phone lines was legendary radio host from Memphis, Tennessee Mr. Mark Stansbury http://www.thehistorymakers.org/biography/mark-stansbury giving his memories of when Dr. King was assassinated. Finally, we welcomed Reverend Amella Starks-Umoja daughter of the late Henry Logan-Starks to wrap up this day of remembrance.
