Rear Admiral Dharmendra Wettewa is presently assigned to the Sri Lanka Embassy in USA as the Minister Defence. He functioned as the Director General Operations of the Sri Lanka Navy since May 2015 until he joined the present assignment. Rear Admiral DMB Wettewa joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet in January 1984 and in 2014 he attended the National Defence Collage in New Delhi where he completed his Master of philosophy degree in Strategic Security Studies with a First class Distinction.
Dr. Sarah J. Feuer, an expert on politics and religion in North Africa, is a Senior Fellow in The Washington Institute’s Geduld Program on Arab Politics. She is the author of Regulating Islam: Religion and the State in Morocco and Tunisia (Cambridge University Press, 2018) and a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Her 2016 Institute monograph, State Islam in the Battle against Extremism: Emerging Trends in Morocco and Tunisia, assessed the involvement of religious institutions in counter-extremism initiatives across Northwest Africa. She is currently expanding that research eastward, examining the evolving form and tenor of State Islam in the Gulf. She has extensive experience in the region, including stints living in Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, and Israel. She currently resides in Tel Aviv, where she is a visiting fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies.
