I’m currently on the Business Development team at Nerd Street Gamers, an esports company that provides competitive opportunities for all gamers through its national network of esports training centers (Localhost), events, and content.
I strive daily to make our company more efficient by delivering a better experience for clients, driven by a passion for bridging the gap between sports and technology. I have 10+ years of media experience working in multiple industries, both individually and as a manager of 5-15 person teams; I enjoy being a mentor as well as a mentee. I started my career in the publishing world and then moved into sports.
Prior to Nerd Street Gamers, I was the Director of Partnerships and Product at Amino Payments where I transformed the Chief Executive’s vision of our user interface into reality and became the “go-to person” for the Executives and Senior Management Team, by designing and implementing a long-term strategic roadmap across the company. Prior to Amino Payments, I was the Director of Product at V12/Throtle, where I worked closely with the Executive Leadership team to develop strategic solutions for the business’s product needs. I also learned digital advertising and client success tools through my prior experience at The Wall Street Journal serving on their Sales Product Planning team. Prior to The Wall Street Journal, I served as one of the first account managers at Groupon (GRPN) pre-IPO, helping create and manage client relationship processes.
Outside of work, I like to travel, play FIFA, and participate in any outdoor sport possible in hopes I do not fall and break something.
Betty Smithsonian (she/her), Best of Philly Up and Coming Comedian 2019, is a comic, musician, improviser, clown, and goof. She can be found joking and creating stages and spaces for lots of people all over the land.
Training: She has studied theatrical goof with Chad Damiani (Lyric) Virginia Scott (Movement Theater Studio) Manu Delpech (Pig Iron), and Tara Demmy. She has studied improv comedy with Kristen Schier (PHIT), Susan Messing (iO) Mary Carpenter, Bobbi Block, Dave Jadico (Comedy Sportz)
