Ellen Yin, Palo Galie, Gene Blum on feeding Made in America and Retirement Wishes for Bob Mills

August 24th, 2021
We have an outstanding lineup of guests for this week’s Food, Farms, & Chefs Radio Show, as we first hear from Ellen Yin who is the Founder and Co-Owner of High Street Hospitality Group–which is home to such amazing restaurants like Fork, High Street on Hudson, High Street Philly, and + Bar. Ellen Yin is also an author, having written, “Forklore: Recipes and Tales from an American Bistro,” and has been a nominee as “Outstanding Restaurateur” for the James Beard Award more than once.  Yin has also played in integral role for fellow restaurateurs, being a voice and leader to help aide in the survival and recovery of businesses during the pandemic, as well as paving the way for female chef-owned restaurants and businesses.  You can hear all about her journey, and everything she has done to offer support to the industry in the beginning of this week’s show.
Then we introduce you to Lower Forge Brewery, where you can grab a cold beer, then sit back and relax with some of your friends.  We’ll hear from Lower Forge Brewery’s co-owner, Palo Galie, as she tells us how their family owned and operated brewery was started, what you can find on-tap, and some of the fun and exciting events that you can attend in Medford, NJ.
Lastly we hear from our very own Chef Gene Blum as he discusses his role in Made in America Festival, what goes into making the festival run smoothly, and exactly how many meals must be made to feed everyone involved.  And teasers for what Gene Blum and Amaris Pollock have in store for you in our upcoming weeks.  Then stay tuned for Gene Blum, Jim Wilkerson, and Eric Walker (Tons of Fun), as they offer their well wishes to industry leader Bob Mills as he retires from being the President of Philly Event Group, and his role as the former President of International Live Events Association (ILEA).

Jewish Perspectives on the News and Politics with Burt Siegel

This program will not hold back on what the host and his guests believe is wrong with an American society in which anti-Jewish sentiments as well as racism have become too often tolerated, where cooperation across party lines is treated as treachery, where immigrants and refugees are seen as a threat to the “American Way of Life” and the gap between the ultra wealthy and the average American is ever widening. While it will reflect the values of Judaism and the Democratic party all are welcomed to share their thoughts regarding how we can achieve the dream of what our nation aspires to be about.
