We first spoke with the Director of Operations & the Head Brewer, Cory McDonald, of Second Story Brewing Company in Philadelphia about his establishment as well as how he is collaborating with other brewery owners to create a craft beer called Adapt and Overcome which is a Hazy IPA style with a 5.9 ABV. And a portion of the proceeds from each brewery benefits the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation. And if you’re interested in the coalition of Breweries that formed to create the Adapt and Overcome brew is called the All Pennsylvania Veterans Beer Collaboration.
Then we heard from Jeff Belonger, owner of MyPhillyAlive and how he created an epic Cheesesteak Tour of the tri-state area where the participating businesses and tour-attendees donated monies which benefitted two veterans charities.
Afterwards, we heard from Tony Rudy, who is one of the dynamic individuals behind Backyard Heroes BBQ. Backyard Heroes is comprised of independent families who decided to put their own money, minds, and charitable souls together while rolling up their sleeves and giving back to others who are faced with difficulties in their lives.
Lastly, we heard from a friend of the show–Dennis Carradin Jr, who amongst so many other things that he does, including being a Traumatic Stress Expert and PTSD Therapist–he also Founded numerous charities like The Trauma Survivors Foundation, and Hospital Heroes Food Drive. Tun
