Guest: Jeannine Cook, owner of Harriett’s Bookshop
Harriett’s Bookshop, which recently celebrated their one year anniversary, is named after historic heroine Harriet Tubman, unapologetically celebrates women authors, women artists, and women activists.
These designs are inspired by Bisa Butler, a contemporary fiber artist known for her quilted portraits celebrating black life, and Ruth E. Carter’s bold print work in the Black Panther movie. All net proceeds from the shoe sales will go directly to Harriett’s Bookshop. They will use these resources to fund our youth internship program that aims to raise the next generation of conductors to be socially motivated authors, artists, and activists.
