Executive Director, Kevin Kelly, discussed the newly announced five-year plan for the ADA, re-enforcing its mission of ‘Driving Discovery’ through research, ‘Raising its Voice’ with advocacy and outreach and ‘Supporting People’ with programming for prevention and better treatment, he also discussed the economic impact of the disease, how one in three children born today will develop diabetes without drastic intervention and the stigma of diabetes, how many view it as a result of poor choices and habits.
