Eagles vs. Buccaneers Predictions: Who Will Win?
I know it’s been a rough few weeks to be a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Heck, it’s been a rough few months. But, we’re in the playoffs, so let’s make the best of it. Miracles can happen, so maybe we’ll get one. So, who will win the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game? Let’s get into some Eagles vs. Buccaneers predictions.
This season’s NFL wild card games take place from Saturday (Jan. 13) to Monday (Jan. 15). The Eagles take the big stage on Monday (Jan. 15) at 8:15 p.m. Eagles at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Eagles game will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2. It’s an away game, so not idea, but look at it this way. Things could be worse. The Eagles could be playing in one of the coldest playoff games in the history of the NFL, like the Dolphins and Chiefs. At least we’re not there. I’ll take Tampa.
The Eagles are favored in this game. But, CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco thinks the Buccaneers will win. He says, “The Eagles are limping into the playoffs having lost five of their last six. They haven’t come close to looking like the Super Bowl team from a year ago.” Ouch. That hurts. He also says that he thinks Baker Mayfield will “play better against an Eagles defense that has struggled.” He also says that he expects a big game from Mike Evans. So, his vote is for the Bucs.
Lorenzo Reyes of USA Today has a slightly better prediction for Eagles fans, with the Eagles 25 and Buccaneers 20. “Everything about Philadelphia’s recent play tells me this is not a pick to make, but I do think the Eagles will get right at some point,” he says. All in all, the expert opinions seem pretty divided.
As the host of a NFL podcast, “The Squad with Anne Erickson,” I have a prediction, too. I’m going with the Eagles 27, Bucs 24.
